Chartered Accountant ICAEW (French Speaking) for HNW Family Office. Based London or Switzerland
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Accountant with a background within a Family Office or a broad background assisting global private clients.
Dealing with all accounting/management for the Family Office and liaising with the Investment Director. Total accounts management and execution of payments and transfers in various countries. Balance sheet reconciliation and cash flow (monthly) Liaising with tax representatives in other jurisdictions to ensure worldwide tax/statutory filing for the family and companies are met (UK, IHT, Swiss Fofeit)
Reviewing tax and legal structures and giving support to family members on any financial matters.
Liaising with third parties including banks. HMRC, Pension, insurance and business advisors.
Dealing with a property portfolio (special audits on property accounts) overseeing property assets in Caribbean, UK and Switzerland.
Able to understand legal agreements and contracts. Investment terms for capital calls, redemption and corporate actions. Awareness of employment lase in Switzerland/UK a plus point.
Corporate governance - understanding fiduciary obligations and able to draft minutes, attend BOD calls and follow the business rationale.
Banking - KYC and regulatory understanding bank transaction and operate accounts. Experience with global custodians and managing multiple Forex accounts. Signatory rights and obligations of ethical conduct.
Experience with international insurance providers and inventory, insurance claims and follow up.
Understanding of workflow processes and experience with M/Files or similar DMS. Good knowledge of Sage a plus point. Implementation of new workflows and implement system protocols.
Knowledge of local Swiss tax system/co-ordination with local tax advisor.
Managing rental income across properties in Switzerland and Caribbean, managing local vendors and work with respective chalet and property managers.
Managing inventory of wine, fine art and jewellery.
Happy to travel occasionally (Caribbean/Switzerland/UK) and able to build relationships easily both with family members and external parties. Good humoured, helpful and a hands on, a solutions driven manner or working.
